Regulator expands energy panel to examine carbon trading

The Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) has appointed 11 members to a newly expanded panel established to prepare the government for carbon trading.

The Energy and Environmental Markets Advisory Committee (EEMAC) will be chaired by CFTC commissioner Bart Chilton. The regulator announced in April that it would expand its energy committee to create a new panel in anticipation of a $2 trillion federal carbon trading scheme.

The new members include:

Elizabeth Moler, executive vice president of Exelon Corporation and former Department of Energy
