Operational risk management: fundamental principles
About the course
The foundation of an effective operational risk framework relies on the strategic oversight of people, processes, systems and external events to design and assess risks and controls relevant to your organisation. This course covers the principles of operational risk, from conducting impactful RCSAs to setting KRIs, and establishing a clear risk appetite framework.
Participants will explore how organisations identify, assess and manage operational risks using tools, such as RCSAs and scenario analysis. Cohesive sessions will create a more comprehensive view of an organisations risk profile, building the participants understanding of responsibilities are shared among the three lines and how different disciplines, like business continuity and third-party risk, connect.
Through practical examples and industry-relevant case studies, participants will learn how to produce clear, actionable risk reporting, communicate effectively with stakeholders, and support informed decision-making.
