European long/short fund by Martin Currie

Mike Nicol has joined Martin Currie to help the firm launch a European long/short fund in June.

The former co-manager of Scottish Value Management's Highlander European long/short fund will co- manage the Martin Currie European Absolute Return Fund with Dino Fuschillo, head of Martin Currie's European equity team.

They will be assisted in stock selection by a team of four pan-European investment
