Tritton to head up alternatives at New Star

New Star has hired Charles Tritton, head of alternative investments at HSBC Bank, to head up its hedge fund business, which currently has approximately $700m in assets under management.

Tritton, who joins New Star in July, will be responsible for building New Star's hedge fund business which has already seen launches of three guaranteed hedge funds. At HSBC, Tritton played a key role in
