Regulators tout new impact studies as proof of Basel III’s viability

Basel Committee and FSB studies play down the economic impact of Basel III - proof, regulators say, that the reforms are fit for purpose.

The Bank for International Settlements this week published two major studies on the economic impact of new capital and liquidity requirements, which regulators now say is evidence that the so-called Basel III reforms are feasible and any impact will be manageable.
