Industry urged to stop fighting Basel III and negotiate transition period

Banks must focus on negotiating the transition period for the Basel III reform package rather than fighting to scrap certain aspects of the proposals, says José María Roldán, director-general for banking regulation at Banco de España and chair of the standards implementation group of the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision.
