Ontario power price cap costs rise

The price cap in the Ontario electricity market has cost the Canadian government C$1.032 billion (US$695 million) since its introduction in December 2002, according to the province’s regulator, the Ontario Independent Electricity Market Operator (IMO).

A spokesman for the IMO says the price cap cost the government C$299 million in February – more than twice the previous monthly high of C$135
