BGI appoints new head for Europe & Asia

Barclays Global Investors (BGI) has appointed David Semaya as its new CEO of Europe & Asia (excluding Japan). Semaya, who joins from BGI Japan Trust and Banking Co. Ltd where he is president and CEO, will be replacing Nigel Williams when he retires in mid-2007. Semaya has spent almost seven years in his current role.
