Credit Risk

Structured credit experts devote much of their creative energy to developing different ways of distributing credit risk. Certainly, structurers are cooking up new credit products to generate revenues, but they are increasingly looking at recipes to create products that will appeal to a wider range of palettes.

As the credit derivatives market grows - EUR33 trillion in notional value outstanding, according to Fitch Ratings - so does the number of investors. New entrants to the market require a lot of information and education before executing their first trades. Investors have usually depended on their bankers to explain the nuances of the simplest to the more complex trades.
