Structured Products Americas Awards 2008
The great and the good treated themselves to fine wine and dinner at the Biltmore Hotel on the early evening of Thursday May 8, celebrating the Structured Products award winners for the Americas region.
Guest speaker Alan Zweibel, of Saturday Night Live fame, presented a trip down memory lane, catching the financial theme with one of his racier seven-dollar jokes, which has perhaps more relevance today than might have been expected: "Sperm banks are the only banks in the world where, when you make a deposit, you lose interest."
Which neatly complemented an earlier appraisal of Zweibel's shortlived career as a stand-up comic: "You're the worst comedian I've ever seen in my whole life, but your material's not bad. Can I see more of it?"
