Strong commodities figures triple 2007 ETC volumes

The volume of exchange traded commodities (ETCs) has tripled in the year-to-date, pushing ETC provider ETF Securities' assets under management up to $2 billion. Investor demand for exposure to commodity spikes has fuelled the growth in ETCs, which is estimated at $60 million a week.

Physical gold has been the most popular ETC, recording 1,200% growth over the past four months as nervous investors
