ICE to make clearing switch

IntercontinentalExchange's (ICE) chief executive Jeffrey Sprecher says the exchange will switch its clearing service from LCH.Clearnet to the clearing house of the New York Board of Trade (Nybot), ICE's new subsidiary.

No specific date has been identified for the switch away from LCH.Clearnet, which follows ICE's merger with Nybot, first proposed in December 2006 and completed in January 2007. The main attractions of the merger were ICE obtaining a wholly-owned clearing house, while Nybot could list its contracts for electronic trading.
