Hong Kong Exchange sets derivatives volume records, sets out stall for 2007

HKEx sees futures and options volumes double, announces RMB futures

Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing (HKEx) set records for its futures and options trading volumes in 2006 and has announced several new initiatives, including renminbi futures.

The bourse's biggest growth came in stock options, where volumes more than doubled to 18.13 million for 2006, up from 8.72 million in 2005. This was down to some fees being "rationalised" and certain position limits being
