Hong Kong regulators to revise money laundering guidelines

HONG KONG -- Regulators in Hong Kong are reviewing their 1997 anti-money laundering guidelines and hope to consult with banks in Hong Kong on the development of new guidelines by the end of 2002.

Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) deputy chief executive David Carse said in August that the agency planned to draw up new guidelines that take into account guidance from the Basel Committee on Banking
