Irish regulators want independent checks on bank risk controls

DUBLIN -- The Central Bank of Ireland has asked banks in Ireland to arrange independent checking of their risk management and controls systems in light of the near $700 million currency market loss suffered by Allied Irish Banks (AIB), central bank governor John Hurley said in early April.
