Deutsche names Korean global markets head

Deutsche Bank has relocated Jeffrey Chung, its former Hong Kong-based co-head of equity sales in Asia, to Seoul as its new head of global markets for Korea, replacing MH Kim.

Chung, who has worked for the German bank since 2001, is now responsible for managing Deutsche Bank’s sales and trading business activities in Korea.

He will focus on developing structured products for Korean clients and international investors wanting to gain access to the Korean market. Chung will also offer capital-raising and risk management services to Korean corporates, and government and quasi-government entities.

Chung will report locally to Soo-Ryong Kim, chairman and chief country officer for Deutsche Bank in Korea, and to Loh Boon Chye, head of global markets for Asia, who is based in Singapore.

Denis MacCarthy is now Deutsche Bank’s sole head of equity sales in Asia, excluding Japan. MacCarthy is based in Hong Kong.
