Dr Francis Declerck is Associate Professor at the Department of Finance at ESSEC Business School, France. He co-chairs the “Shaping the future of finance” ESSEC chair.

His research is focused on commodity finance, particularly international agricultural and energy markets.

He holds a PhD from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, USA. He is accredited to supervise research from the University of Montpellier, France.

This paper explains the major drivers of biodiesel market prices by examining agricultural resource prices and gasoil prices for automotive fuels in the context of European Union environmental policy.
