Vendors race to launch CDS index platforms
A race is on to develop the first multi-dealer trading service for credit default swaps (CDS) indices in Europe after TradeWeb and MarketAxess announced plans to launch platforms later this year.
Thomson TradeWeb has teamed up with JPMorgan, Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley to provide liquidity on its platform, which is slated for launch in September with the new roll of the iTraxx series in Europe and the Dow Jones CDX series in the US. TradeWeb will start with investment-grade CDS
