Merchant Capital structured product investors to pay up to £600 as Reyker takes over plan management

Merchant Capital structured products investors are due to be charged hefty fees at product maturity as custodian Reyker Securities takes over as plan manager.

Financial custodian Reyker Securities is taking over plan management for 12,000 investors holding outstanding structured investments from Merchant Capital, leaving investors bearing the brunt of up to £600 worth of charges per plan.

Reyker's head of risk management and strategy, Adrian Barnwell, claims the company is "bending over backwards" to help consumers by levelling the charges at the end of a product's maturity, but it still means investors who paid upfront fees via their independent
