Majority of fund selectors use ETFs as tactical investments

More than half of UK wealth managers and global fund selectors use ETFs to gain tactical exposure to certain markets, according to new survey

Investors are primarily using exchange-traded funds (ETFs) to gain tactical exposure to specific markets, according to new research from State Street Global Advisors.

The survey found 53.9% of UK wealth managers and 51.8% of global fund selectors use ETFs as tactical investments. In comparison, 22.4% of UK wealth managers and 20% of global fund selectors saw ETFs as core building blocks of their portfolios.
