Deborah Fuhr has left asset manager BlackRock, after accepting a new role believed to still be within the exchange-traded funds (ETF) industry.

The former BlackRock global head of ETF research and implementation strategy is currently on gardening leave. She will start her new role in the autumn and remain in London, says a source with knowledge of the situation.

Her departure has left a gap in the company's ETF research department, which will now be taken over by the BlackRock Investment
