BarCap offers institutional investors 'advanced' emerging markets index
Barclays Capital has launched an index that provides investors with exposure to emerging markets with political stability and good long-term prospects
Barclays Capital has launched the Advanced Emerging Markets Index in response to popular demand for exposure to the sector. The index provides investors with exposure to 10 emerging economies that it believes are likely to achieve solid, stable and sustainable economic growth.
The index aims to provide better risk-adjusted returns and lower volatility than an index constructed using the traditional Bric (Brazil, Russia, India and China) concept.
