Short euro ETFs benefit from Greece debt crisis

Trading volumes have soared on the ETF Securities (ETFS) trading platform as the fallout from European fiscal problems affect currency exchange-traded commodities (ETCs). ETFS’s short euro, long US dollar ETC captured 50% of new assets as investors took advantage of the sovereign debt problems in Greece.

All the currency ETCs that are long the US dollar and short G-10 currencies have seen interest from investors, making up 81% of assets on the exchange.
