The FSA's Retail Distribution Review: What price retail advice?

Change is afoot in the UK as the structured products market prepares for the Financial Services Authority’s Retail Distribution Review, which comes into force at the beginning of 2013. While many structured product providers and intermediaries are already implementing measures to ensure they are prepared for the introduction of the UK Financial Services Authority’s (FSA) Retail Distribution Review (RDR) in 2013, there remain issues that some market participants believe need addressing. While the RDR should increase the use of structured products among retail investors, the new legislation could have a negative effect on the retail advice market.
