Carbon copies from Croci

The financial crisis generally puts paid to all things environmental, but not now. Deutsche Bank has just launched to retail and institutional investors two new Ucits III funds based on "a stock portfolio of attractively valued companies with low greenhouse gas emissions".

The DB Platinum Croci (Cash Return on Cash Invested) Carbon 100 Euro TR Fund, a global long-only strategy, and the DB Platinum Croci Carbon Alpha TR Fund, a global long-short strategy favour stocks which from companies that are relatively low emitters of greenhouse gases.

The Carbon 100 uses the Croci selection methodology to choose 100 stocks that have a lower emission factor than the average of their respective sectors; the Carbon Alpha weights all stocks from a selection pool using Croci and
