Barclays Wealth enhances rates on investment range

Barclays Wealth is launching a range of capital protected investments with improved terms on growth and income products, which are designed to maximise returns in volatile markets. The Protected FTSE Plan offers 1.5 times the rise in the FTSE 100 index up to a maximum return of either 27% for the three-year option or 60% for the five-year. The terms are enhanced from the previously offered 22.5% and 51% respectively. The plan also has an early maturity option, which offers a 30% return after two-and-a-half years, if the index is 30% or more above its initial starting level. Otherwise, the plan continues with the same terms as the five-year option.

Also within the range is the Regular Income Bond, a five-year, income-only investment linked to the Dow Jones Stoxx 50 index, offering exposure to 50 ‘supersector’ stocks across Europe and UK. The bond offers 7.5% annual gross income or 1.85% quarterly income, an improvement from the previous rates of 7.2% and 1.78% respectively. Capital is returned in full unless the index falls by 40% and is not equal to or higher than its starting level by maturity, in which case capital is lost 1:1.
