Stanchart elevates equity derivatives and structuring

Standard Chartered has appointed Vincent Van Pelt as global head of equity derivatives and commodities and Vinod Aachi as global head of structuring. Van Pelt’s new role harnesses equity derivatives and commodities for the first time at the bank, with van Pelt taking responsibility for all trading, risk and product activities and joint responsibility for the sales teams. Stanchart is new to both businesses, which will remain distinct, creating them two years ago.

Van Pelt will join the Financial Markets Management Committee and report directly to Lenny Feder, group head of Financial Markets and move from London to Singapore for his new position.

Van Pelt was formerly at Bear Stearns, where he was most recently co-head of European Equities (cash, derivatives and prime brokerage) and a member of the European Executive Committee. Prior to that, Van Pelt was in sales and trading at Bankers Trust in New York, Tokyo and London. Vinod Aachi has been appointed
