January 2013 saw the implementation of the Retail Distribution Review (RDR), a regulatory initiative heralding the biggest shake-up in the UK's retail financial services for many years. The RDR applies to all advised investment sales - including mutual funds, bonds, managed funds and structured products - but excludes deposit products. The reasoning and likely impact of the review has been studied in other jurisdictions, with a major bearing in how other European markets are likely to do
