In Europe, the income index is the best performer over the past six years when compared with the accelerated and protected variants. Not so in Japan, where the accelerated index tops the trio of indexes as best performing. In both regions, the protected indexes are the most stable choices.

Future Value Consultant’s EU Income index has been the best performer of the family of European and Japanese indexes since the inception of the regional variants at the beginning of 2004, and was valued in April 2010 at 137.1. The EU Protected and EU Accelerated indexes follow the income version in that order. When comparing these indexes with those for Japan, a different pattern emerges over the same period, with the accelerated providing the best value, followed by the Japan Income product and
