Ehud I. Ronn

Ehud I. Ronn is a Professor of Finance at the McCombs School of Business, University of Texas at Austin. Dr. Ronn obtained his Ph.D. in Finance from Stanford University. He has published articles on investments, interest-rate instruments and energy derivatives in the academic and practitioner literature. He is the editor of Real Options and Energy Management: Using Options Methodology to Enhance Capital Budgeting Decisions published in 2002 by Risk Books, London. Prior to joining the University of Texas in July 1988, Dr. Ronn was a faculty member at the University of California, Berkeley, and the University of Chicago. During 1997 - 2009, Dr. Ronn was the founding director of the University of Texas at Austin Center for Energy Finance Education and Research. In Fall 2011, Dr. Ronn was visiting professor of finance at Fordham Univ. and Dartmouth College. During 1991 - ‘93, Dr. Ronn served as Vice President, Trading Research Group at Merrill Lynch & Co., and from Jan. 2010 to Feb. 2011, Commodity Market Modeling practice area manager at Morgan Stanley & Co. In Nov. 2004, Dr. Ronn was selected by Energy Risk to the "Energy Risk Hall of Fame."

Takashi Kanamura

Takashi Kanamura is currently an Associate Professor of Advanced Integrated Studies in Human Survivability at Kyoto University. He holds a PhD from Hitotsubashi University, Tokyo and worked for more than 10 years at J-POWER, one of the largest Japanese utility companies. His research interests cover: commodity finance, energy finance, financial economics, asset pricing, real options, weather derivatives, risk management, electricity markets, natural gas markets, coal markets, carbon markets, freight markets.

Reinhard Madlener

Dr. Reinhard Madlener is a full professor of energy economics and management at the School of Business and Economics, RWTH Aachen University, Germany. His main research interests, on which he has published extensively over the last 20 years, are in the fields of energy economics and policy, sustainable energy systems, and the adoption, temporal and spatial diffusion, and financing of innovative energy technologies under uncertainty. The teaching activities of Professor Madlener are mainly in energy economics, environmental economics, economics of technological diffusion, and economics of technical change. He is currently on the Editorial Boards of the following international scientific journals: Applied Economics Quarterly; Applied Energy; Energy Efficiency; Energy Systems; Energy, Sustainability and Society; International Journal of Energy Sector Management; Journal of Energy Storage; and Sustainable Cities and Society. Dr. Madlener is the founding director of the Institute for Future Energy Consumer Needs and Behavior (FCN), which is part of the interdisciplinary and integrated E.ON Energy Research Center established in late 2006 at RWTH Aachen University.

Sebastian Himpler

Sebastian Himpler is currently Intraday trader in the Intraday Energy Management Team Germany at Statkraft Markets Gmbh in Dusseldorf, responsible for managing one of the largest virtual power plants worldwide. His previous role was with the Strategy Team at E.ON Climate & Renewables in Dusseldorf. He has been working on quantitative analysis on energy markets since late 2010, especially focussing on renewable development and incentives schemes in Europe and SEA. Sebastian Himpler obtained a MSc in Business Administration and Engineering focussing on Energy Engineering in 2013 from the RWTH University Aachen Germany.
