BBA rejects King's call to break up banks


The British Bankers' Association (BBA) has rejected calls by Mervyn King, Bank of England governor, to break up banks that are considered “too important to fail”.

BBA chief executive Angela Knight says breaking up banks is not a solution in response to the financial crisis and that large banks providing a wide range of products are still needed.
