Global whistleblowing systems could fall foul of local rules

EUROPE & US - Under section 301 of the US Sarbanes-Oxley Act (Sox), firms that are publicly listed in the US have a legal obligation to establish a whistleblowing hotline for employees to report any illegal wrongdoing at the firm. However, there is no such similar legal requirement in place for the rest of the world.
