The global financial crisis might turn out to be just a minor hurdle in the expansion of Australia and New Zealand Banking Group (ANZ). In June, the Melbourne-based bank announced it was well on track towards completing its ‘super regional’ expansion project, which aims to result in 20% of around $8 billion in group earnings being attracted from the Asia-Pacific region by 2012.
