FX options clearing analysis in final stages
The GFMA's global forex division is understood to be close to completion of its analysis of five years of options trading data - a project that is intended to lead to a solution for options clearing
An extensive industry exercise to collect and analyse five years' of historical data in the foreign exchange options market in an effort to find a workable mechanism to centrally clear options under new regulation is now close to completion, with publication of the analysis expected within weeks.
The data collection exercise, which was initiated by the global foreign exchange division (GFXD) of the Global Financial Markets Association, began in March 2012 after it became clear that regulators
