Prudential names Foley as group chief risk officer

Prudential has announced the appointment of John Foley as group chief risk officer and an executive director on the board, starting on January 1.

Foley, who is currently chief executive of Prudential Capital and group treasurer, replaces Thibaut Le Maire, who has decided to join HSBC. Le Maire, who has been at Prudential since July 2009, will start at HSBC in the new year, working in the financial institutions group in global banking.

Foley joined London-based insurer Prudential as deputy group treasurer in 2000, before becoming group treasurer in 2001. He was appointed chief executive of Prudential Capital in 2007. Before joining
