SEC appoints Thomas Bayer as chief information officer

Bayer's new role involves overseeing the agency's information technology functions, including applications development, infrastructure and user support, and managing daily operations in the agency's office of information technology.

Bayer replaces Charles Boucher, who had served as chief information officer at the SEC since December 2008. Boucher decided to leave the agency to pursue non-profit work and finish his studies in preparation for ordination as a deacon.
