CFTC starts swap execution facility regulation discussions

Attendees of a meeting this week of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission’s (CFTC) technical advisory committee began to lay the groundwork for rules that will eventually govern swap execution facilities (SEFs).

The CFTC is working on registration procedures for SEFs, as well as regulations stemming from its core principles such as safeguarding against market manipulation, managing conflicts of interest and setting responsibilities and procedures for market events, according to John Rogers
