De Vries takes on global FX for ING Financial Markets

Ted de Vries, Amsterdam-based global head of ING Financial Markets, has taken over direct responsibility for global foreign exchange, the bank said last week.

Former global head of forex, money markets and derivatives, Mark Fisher, left the bank in July. Leo Janssen, previously head of financial markets in Asia, took over Fisher's other responsibilities as head of UK financial markets, moving from Hong Kong to London last week. Before Janssen's transfer, Jan Menger, ING's Amsterdam-based global head of treasury, had covered Fisher's UK financial markets role.

To replace Janssen in Hong Kong, Percy Rueber, previously head of financial markets in Singapore, takes on extra responsibility for financial markets in Asia. Janssen and Rueber report to De Vries.

Fisher left ING on July 11 to pursue other interests, said a spokesperson for the bank in London. He had managed global forex at ING since 1999, when he was promoted from a role as director of debt and derivatives.

In a separate move, ING Financial Markets in Hong Kong has hired Daren Riley as global head of Asian hedge fund sales. Riley, who reports to Stephen Hill, head of Asian equity sales, was previously at Credit Lyonnais Securities Asia, where he was executive director and head of equity sales, Asia.

ING Financial Markets was created in March 2002, when ING Group rebranded what was formerly known as ING Barings.
