The Professional Risk Managers’ International Association (Prmia) has created an academic advisory council in a bid to further the integration of risk management theory and practical application.
Members of the council in Europe include: Carol Alexander, chair of risk management and director of research at the Isma Centre at the University of Reading in the UK; Krzysztof Jajuga, head of the Financial Management Institute and head of the Department of Financial Investments and Insurance at Wroclaw University of Economics in Poland; and Bruno Dupire, a board member of UK consultant Reech Capital.Linda Kreitzman, director of the masters in financial engineering program at the Haas School of Business, University of California at Berkeley; John Bilson, professor of finance, and Elias Demetriades, adjunct professor of finance, at the Illinois Institute of Technology’s Stuart Graduate School of Business; and Michel Crouhy, senior vice-president for risk analytics at CIBC, represent North American council members.
The only council member in Asia is Elizabeth Sheedy, an associate professor at Macquarie University’s Macquarie Applied Finance Centre.
Prmia, set up earlier this year, said it has attracted 3,900 members from 85 countries around the world.
