Wyman’s Wilson to head new Prmia chapter in Switzerland

Tom Wilson, head of Oliver Wyman and Company’s global finance and risk practice group, will head a new chapter for the Professional Risk Managers’ International Association (Prmia) in Switzerland.

Wilson, who joined the consultancy at the start of the year, previously worked at Swiss Re New Markets, initially as chief risk officer and then with expanded responsibilities as chief financial officer. Prior to this, he was global head of risk management at McKinsey & Company, where he developed the consultancy’s client base and built its technical practices, including new software design for credit risk measurement and portfolio management.

He plans to build a forum in Switzerland to address the most pressing risk management issues facing Swiss financial institutions, and aims to promote the Prmia certified risk manager exam in the land-locked European county.

Prmia, an industry association for risk managers, was formed at the turn of the year by many former members of the Global Association of Risk Professionals.
