Deutsche hires Asian securitisation head

Deutsche Bank has hired Raj Shourie to head its Asia ex-Japan securitisation group, say bank sources.

He will be based in Singapore and will start at Deutsche at the end of July. He is currently on gardening leave.

In his new role, Shourie will be responsible for cash transactions as well as synthetic securitisations, an area that Deutsche is keen to develop in the region, said one source at the bank.

Shourie joins Deutsche from Barclays Capital, where he was head of the bank's financial institutions group. Before that, Shourie structured asset-backed securities at Credit Suisse First Boston, which he left last May to join Barclays.

At Deutsche, he will report to David Shrenzel, a New York-based managing director of the bank's asset-backed securities department.
