CME to list electronic FX options on Monday

The Chicago Mercantile Exchange plans to offer nine American-style foreign exchange options for trading on its Globex electronic trading platform from Monday, December 18.

The exchange will offer options on euros, yen, sterling, pesos, roubles, Australian dollars, Canadian dollars, New Zealand dollars and Swiss francs on Globex. The options are already available for open outcry trading.

The CME already offers European-style options on euros, yen, sterling, Canadian dollars and Swiss francs for electronic trading.

The nine new options will be available for trading 23 hours a day. Many of the CME's other futures and options are available only 16 hours a day, but the CME said it plans to extend opening hours for other products next year.
