BNP Paribas transfers Lazell to London as head of debt capital markets for European corporates

French banking group BNP Paribas has named Brian Lazell as head of debt capital markets in Europe for corporate borrowers. Lazell will transfer to London from Hong Kong, where he was head of credit markets, Asia-Pacific. In London, he will report to Paul Hearn, global head of primary markets.

Lazell moved to Hong Kong in early 2002 from London, where he was global head of emerging markets. As Hong Kong-based head of credit markets, Lazell oversaw the French bank’s credit activitives in the region, outside of Japan. His duties included origination, syndication, sales, trading and research for credit derivatives, and structured debt products.The bank declined to comment on who would replace Lazell, who is due to start in London in early October.
