Credit Suisse fills gap left by Bennett

Following Jeremy Bennett’s decision to take a sabbatical from his role as head of structuring, co-head of European fixed income and co-head of emerging markets at Credit Suisse, the bank has moved several other senior staff.

Sudip Thakor, who is head of the bank’s fixed income derivatives product business in New York and jointly manages global credit trading with Jonathan McHardy, also becomes head of global structuring. Gael de Boissard, Bennett’s London-based co-head of European fixed income, will now take sole responsibility for European fixed income.

Ram Nayak and Darren Walker become co-heads of the bank’s emerging markets group, based in London, relieving Thakor and McHardy of the day-to-day running of the business. Nayak currently has overall responsibility for the structuring group and the central and eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa debt capital markets group, and is also regional head of the fixed income department’s emerging market coverage group within central and eastern Europe and Africa. Walker also has responsibility for the eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa trading group including credit trading, credit derivatives and local currency trading. Both will assume the new roles immediately and continue to retain their other posts. They will report to Thakor and McHardy.

In an internal memo, Credit Suisse said Bennett intends to return to the bank during the summer.
