Citigroup snares Calpine CFO to head commodity capital markets

Citigroup has appointed Rodney Malcolm as managing director and global head of commodity capital markets.

Malcolm will be based in Houston and report to John Casaudoumecq, global head of commodities, and Stuart Staley, global head of power and gas. He will take charge of Citigroup’s new capital markets team, covering oil, metals, power and gas.

Malcolm will work closely with Citigroup's banking teams and coverage professionals, and is expected to create risk management solutions. For example, as a part of a Citigroup-led acquisition financing, Malcolm’s group will provide services such as creating expenditure or cashflow hedging strategies for the company.

Malcolm joins from Calpine Energy Services where he served as chief financial officer and interim executive vice-president.
