BNP strengthens hedge fund forex sales

Farielle Boufaden will join the foreign exchange hedge fund sales desk at BNP Paribas in London from HSBC. She held a similar role for two years at the UK bank with a particular focus on selling derivatives.

The hedge fund sales team at BNP Paribas will also cover proprietary forex trading desks, commodity trading advisers and quantitative model accounts. The move follows the appointments of Justine Hatt and Katy Mezhar to lead the French bank’s structured products offerings in its newly created non-reciprocal bank (NRB) forex desk earlier in the month. BNP Paribas said more hires are imminent in forex sales, where it now has dedicated desks focused on hedge funds, NRBs and real-money accounts.

Boufaden starts on September 1 and will report to François Boisson, head of forex sales in the French bank’s fixed income institutional client group.
