Fuhr to cover exchange-traded funds at BGI

Deborah Fuhr, who previously headed exchange-traded funds (ETF) research at Morgan Stanley, has joined asset manager and ETF provider Barclays Global Investors (BGI) in a similar role.

At BGI, Fuhr will lead the firm’s newly created ETF research and implementation strategy team, which will produce analysis and research on the ETF industry and trading strategies using the products.

Her new role is effective from September 15 and she will be based in London, working with BGI’s client base across Europe and North America, as well as developing markets such as Australasia, Latin America and the Middle East.

She is a senior figure in the ETF industry, having focused on the products for 11 years at her previous job. Fuhr left Morgan Stanley in June after it disbanded its investment strategies team, which covered investment and execution of delta-one products such as ETFs.
