Amine appointed co-head of Credit Suisse's global investment banking department

Credit Suisse has named Jim Amine as co-head of its global investment banking department and head of its global markets solutions group.

He will remain based in London, and reports to Paul Calello, chief executive of the investment bank of Credit Suisse. Marc Granetz will continue as the other co-head of the global investment banking department and global head of the mergers and acquisitions group.

Amine fills the gap left when Eric Varvel was appointed as Credit Suisse’s chief executive of the Europe, Middle East and Africa region in January. Amine was most recently co-head of global leveraged finance and head of the global markets solutions group in Europe. These previous responsibilities covered leveraged finance-related collateralised debt obligation activities, fixed-income corporate derivatives, equity capital markets, equity derivatives and leveraged finance origination. He joined Credit Suisse First Boston in 1997.
