Moody’s: transparency will drive CDO investor comeback

The European collateralised debt obligation (CDO) market's ability to offer transparency to investors will determine the speed of their return to the sector, said Moody’s Investors Service.

In its yearly CDO outlook for Europe, the Middle East and Africa, the New York-based rating agency said: “A major question mark for 2008 is the recovery of investors’ confidence.” It added this was unlikely to improve until the effects of deteriorating US subprime mortgages, especially on financial institutions, had been fully measured.
