DrKW builds exotic equity team

Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein has added four members to its exotic equity derivatives business. The hires were made to expand the team and the bank's structured products business.

Patrick Sciamma joins from Goldman Sachs in London to head exotic equity derivatives trading. He reports to Areski Iberrakene, head of equity derivatives. To head index exotics trading, DrKW has tapped Olivier Charhon, who comes from Ixis Corporate & Investment Bank in Paris. Charhon reports to Sciamma.

For equity derivatives structuring, DrKW has hired Tayeb Amegroud from Lehman Brothers in Paris. Amegroud will head structuring and report to Roberto Silvotti, head of derivatives structuring and product development. Also joining the equity derivatives structuring team is Sebastien Bossu, who comes from JP Morgan.

Rivals have claimed DrKW's equity derivatives business has been less active in the market during the past 12 months compared with previous years. But Iberrakene said the hires underlined DrKW’s commitment to building its exotic equity derivatives franchise. "[They] are a further indication of our broader efforts to grow our structured products business," he said.
